Beijing University Founder Group, China's second biggest computer producer, has signed an agreement with Japan's Omron to establish a research and development (R&D) center.
According to the strategic partnership agreement, the joint R&D center will engage in researching and developing public systems such as intellectual transportation control system and automatic fare collection (AFC) system for both the Chinese and Japanese markets.
Founder will invest over 10 million yuan (1.2 million US dollars) in the project, said Zhang Zhaodong, president of the Founder Group, while Omron will put in nearly 5 billion yen (4.5 million dollars).
The two sides plan to settle cooperation details in half a year and hope the center will bring 750 million yuan (90 million dollars )in annual output within three years.
Before establishing the strategic partnership, the Tokyo-headquartered automation giant had set up a joint laboratory with Founder on AFC system.
