A man accused of injuring 25 students of a local primary school was arrested in Juxian County in east China's Shandong Province, said police, Monday.

Thirty-seven-year old bus driver Jia Qingyou stabbed 25 students with a kitchen knife and kidnapped a nine-year-old girl at the No. 1 Experimental Primary School at 7:10 a.m. Monday.

The local police had successfully subdued the hijacker and rescued the hostage. The students were immediately hospitalized. The boys and girls mainly sustained wounds to their arms and faces and are all in stable condition.

According to the preliminary interrogation, Jia fought with a resident surnamed Shen and was seeking revenge. Failing to find Shen, Jia attacked the children in the nearby school.

Further investigation continues.
