Chief of PLA General Staff holds talks with Austrian counterpart

Liang Guanglie, chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) met here Tuesday with Roland Ertl, chief of general staff of Austrian army.

Liang, also member of the Central Military Commission, said, the visit will further promote mutual understanding, trust and cooperation between two armies. China valued the relations with Austria, and is positive towards the exchanges and cooperation of two armies. He hoped the relations of two armies will develop at multi levels and in multi sectors.

He briefed the guests on China's view on international and regional security situation, China's army construction and the Fourth Plenary Session of the 16th CPC Central Committee.

Ertl expressed his hope to enhance relations between Austrian and Chinese armies.
