font size

Hong Kong's largest broadcaster Television Broadcasts Ltd has been granted cable landing rights for the first time on the Chinese mainland.

TVB's two major free-to-air channels, the English-language Pearl and Cantonese Jade will be shown in nine cities in the southern province of Guangdong.

Television Broadcasts programmes have the most viewers in southern China, 40 percent of the total.

It is predicted that the company will get access to eight million households after getting the landing license.
