Kazakhstan embassy's press attache killed in Moscow

Press attache of Kazakhstan's embassy in Moscow, Ebragim Djumaleyev was shot and killed on a small street in downtown Moscow Wednesday night, police sources said.

The crime occurred on Oruzheiny Pereulok street at around 21:00 hours Moscow time (17:00 hours GMT). The killer waited for Djumaleyev, 52, fired shots at him and got away on a car.

The wounds proved fatal, and the Kazakh diplomat died on the spot.

A team of operatives was working on the spot of the murder at the time of reporting and a search for the criminals began.

Police found documents written out in the name of the Kazakh President's plenipotentiary representative in Moscow in the victim's pocket.

Interior officials notified the Kazakh embassy about the incident.
