font size

A Syrian security official confirmed some of Syrian troops withdrew from neighboring Lebanon Thursday morning.

The official, who asked not to be named, told Xinhua "a small number of soldiers" had returned to Syria, without giving the exact quantity.

Reports from Lebanon reaching here said a convoy of about 60 buses transporting Syrian soldiers as well as trucks carrying their belongings crossed the Masnaa border post at 5:00 am (2 GMT). There is no official confirmation of such withdrawal both from Syria and Lebanon.
