CPPCC vice-chairman Liu meets Cisco chairman

Liu Yandong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met in Beijing Thursday with John Chambers, chairmanof Cisco Systems Inc.

Cisco, the world's largest Internet network equipment maker, has contributed to China's information industry by providing advanced network technology and products to

the country, Liu said. "We hope Cisco will continue to play its important role in promoting bilateral exchange and cooperation," Liu added.

China and the United States share extensive interests, and the two countries have seen increasing cooperation in various fields since they forged diplomatic ties 25 years ago, Liu said.
