font size

Jordanian Prime Minister Faisal AlFayez held talks with visiting European Union (EU) Transport Commissioner Loyola De Palacio on Thursday with Iraq topping their topic, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

Fayez reiterated that security and stabilization are key to Iraq, hoping that Iraq would play its role in the Middle East when peace is restored in the war-torn country.

For her part, De Palacio expressed the EU's approval of Jordan's efforts to restore peace and stability in the region.

Palacio, who arrived in Amman Thursday on a two-day visit, said that efforts must be unified to rebuild Iraq and to prevail security and stability in Iraq in a way to start its active role in the region.
