Headway made in "one network observing many satellites"
font size

With the recent launch of the two "Shijian-6" satellites, the Xi'an Satellite Observation and Control Center starts a campaign of managing many satellites in long time and performing real-time observation, a task with no precedent.

Satellite of different types requires different observation networks for them. In 1970s China had already mastered a technique that uses one observation network to monitor satellites of different types. In recent years the Xi'an Satellite Observation and Control Center has developed a system that adopts software capable of optimizing and distributing the observation resources. Based on analysis of satellite in different orbits, and their conflicts in using the network, the system can distribute and manage the observation time scientifically. The adoption of the system brings manual distribution of the observation resources to an end and completely unleashes the potentials of observation resources.
