Six Egyptians, 4 Iraqis taken hostage in Iraq

Kidnappers seized six Egyptians and four Iraqis working for an Iraqi mobile phone company in separate incidents, Dubai-based al-Arabiya TV channel reported Friday.

The men were all working for Iraqna Mobile Net, Faeq Mabrouk, an Egyptian Embassy official, told the channel.

"Two of the Egyptians were kidnapped in Baghdad, while the others were seized in the city of Qaem, near the Syrian borders," he added.

The channel gave no further details about the incidents.

Earlier on Friday, Iraq's Interior Ministry spokesman AdnanAbdul-Rahman said two Egyptians working for Iraquna were abducted from their offices in Baghdad's upscale Harthiya neighborhood Thursday night.
