Chinese President Hu Jintao presented on Saturday, Sept 25, certificates to two nearly promoted generals in his capacity as chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the Communist Party of China.
Hu, also general secretary of the Party Central Committee, succeeded Jiang Zemin as CMC chairman at a major Party meeting last week.
The two officers getting the promotion are Zhang Dingfa, commander of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), and Jing Zhiyuan, commander of the PLA artillery corps, both becoming members of the CPC at last week's Party meeting.
They are promoted to the rank of general according to an order signed by Hu on Sept. 20.
