Eight Iraqis were killed and 11 others injured late Saturday in another US airstrike on the restive city of Fallujah, hospital sources said.
Among the killed and wounded, there were children and women, according to the Fallujah General Hospital.
The toll would possibly hike since a number of citizens were being buried under the rubble of a targeted house in the al-Julan district in western Fallujah, local resident Abdul Rahman told Xinhua by telephone.
"The house was destroyed by cluster bombs dropped by US warplanes," he said.
Ambulances rushed to the scene to rescue survivals as the air raid was going on. The first strike occurred shortly after 10 p.m. (1800 GMT), he added.
The US military did not immediately comment on the incident.
A pair of airstrikes around the city early Saturday killed seven Iraqis and injured some 13 others, although the US military said it was conducting precision attack and minimizing civilian casualties.
The military said it was targeting hideouts of militants loyal to al-Qaida-linked figure Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi.
