font size

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CCCPC) is organizing staff to construct a high-level website on Marxism.

The website is reportedly to be built into a multilingual and multi-media digital data bank, containing classic Marxist documents, documents on Marxism developments in China and material on Marxist research and studies. Upon completion, the website will serve as a resource center for Marxism research, teaching and publicity, as well as an information platform for the nation's project of Marxist theoretical research and building.

CCCPC decided to launch the project of Marxist theoretical research and building in an effort to further strengthen ideological construction of CPC and consolidate the guiding position of Marxism in the ideological field. Complication and study of classic Marxist documents is an important part of the project.

The Compilation and Translation Bureau of CCPCC has set up two work groups. One consists of experts from the Bureau, responsible for revising translations of classic Marxist writers; the other consists experts from the Central CPC School, China Academy of Social Sciences, universities under the administration of the Ministry of Education, "Qiushi" Magazine and the Bureau, responsible for studying basic points of view of classic Marist works.

The groups shoulder two tasks respectively--to revise translations of key works by Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels and other important Marxist writers to make them more accurate, and to make in-depth studies and expound on basic viewpoints of Marxism to clarify what are fundamental principles that requires long-term adherence, what are understanding and judgments that should be enriched and developed in considering of new realities, what are doctrinal understanding on Marxism that must be break with and what are wrong opinions attached to Marxism that must be clarified. The aim is to guide cadres and people to approach Marxism in a scientific way and use developing Marxist principles to guide practices.

The two expert groups, after widely soliciting opinions, have decided respectively their key parts of work.
