Chinese women retains junior volleyball title

The Chinese junior women's volleyball team beat Japan in straight sets to retain its title at the 12th Asian championship in Colombo on September 26.

The scores were 25-16, 25-22, 25-20.

South Korea easily won over Chinese Taipei for the third place.

The tournament began on Sept. 19 with the participation of nine teams from Australia, China, India, South Korea, the Maldives, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Sri Lanka.

Thailand will host the next tournament in 2006.
