Top Pakistani al-Qaeda suspect killed in security operation

Pakistani security forces on Sunday killed a key a-Qaeda member suspected to be the master mind of an assassination attempt on President Pervez Musharraf and wanted for his role in the murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, reports here said.

The dead man was said to be Amjad Hussain Farooqi. He was killed in an operation that took place at a house in Nawabshah, atown about 200 km northeast of the main southern city of Karachi.
