Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on additional measures of providing state support to the human rights movement in Russia, Itar-Tass reported Monday.
The decree approves the establishment of an international human rights centre in the country.
The proposal to set up the centre was put forward by the Human Rights Commission under the Russian president.
In accordance with the decree, the president recommends to the executive power bodies of Russian Federation constituents to provide assistance in material and technical support to human rights commissions, as well as to take into account proposals made by human rights organisations when forming the compositions of advisory and consultative bodies and human rights commissions.
By the decree of the Russian president plenipotentiary envoys of the head of state in the country's federal districts are obligated to attract representatives of human rights organisations to work in the consultative bodies created by them.
