Chinese State Councilor meets guests from Asia Foundation

Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met with a delegation of the US Asia Foundation led by Douglas Bereuter, president of the organization Monday, underlining the importance of Taiwan question in China-US ties.

Tang congratulated the foundation's 50 anniversary, appreciating it's efforts in promoting China-US exchange and cooperation since 25 years ago, when it started operation in China.

Tang said that he hopes the foundation will contribute more to the constant, sound and stable development of China-US ties by pushing the US government to properly handle the Taiwan question in line with the three China-US communique.

As a non-profit, non-governmental organization, the Asia Foundation has carried out exchange and training program with China in many aspects such as legislation, diplomatism, economy, education and NGOs.
