Senior officials from China and Canada on Wednesday in Magog called for more efforts to strengthen cooperation in education field between the two countries.
The two sides agreed to enhance exchanges in education at the ongoing China-Canada Round Table on Education.
Although the education systems of the two countries have many differences, there are still many topics of common interest between the two sides, said Yuan Guiren, China's deputy minister of Education Ministry, in his opening address.
Yuan noted that the fast development of education in China provides opportunities for cooperation and exchange between the two sides.
He hoped that the joint meeting will promote the cooperation in the education field of the two countries.
Dr. Paul Cappon, director general of Council of Ministers of Education of Canada, gave a brief introduction of Canada's education system.
Presidents and deputy presidents of over 40 universities in China and over 100 Chinese and Canadian officials attended the two-day meeting.
