China's first nine national electronic information industrial bases open for business

The opening ceremony of the national electronic information industrial bases and the symposium of the bases construction were held in Beijing on September 28.

According to the sponsor, the Ministry of Information Industry, 9 cities and regions, namely Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, the costal regions along Fuzhou and Xiamen in southeast China��s Fujian province, and the Pearl River delta region in south China's Guangdong province, will become the first national electronic information industrial bases.

The sales income, industrial added value, profit and tax, as well as foreign exchanges earned through export accounted for 81.9%, 75.7%, 74.4%, and 82.6% of the national total respectively in 2003.
