A senior Islamic Jihad (Holy War)leader vowed on Wednesday revenge on Israel for its assassination of a commander of the movement's armed wing in an Israeli air strike in Gaza.
Bashir Dabash, 39, who was commander of Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Jihad, was killed together with his assistant Zareefel Aarer as their car was hit by an Israeli missile in western Gaza City on Tuesday.
Jihad leader in Gaza Mohamed al Hindi said the group would not let the blood of its militants go for free and vowed revenge."Killing our militants is part of the Israeli strategy that is based on terrorism, assassination and shedding the Palestinian blood," said Hindi, adding that the Palestinians were going for an open-ended war against Israel.
"Israel is making use of the current circumstances in the world, especially the war in Iraq and the elections in the United States,to continue carrying out awful crimes against the Palestinians people," said Hindi.
The Jihad leader also called upon the Palestinian National Authority to end any direct or indirect negotiations or contacts with Israel, saying there was no possibility to settle with Israel who killed children and women everyday.
