EU urged to recognize China's full market economy status
font size

Chinese Commerce Minister Bo Xilai on Friday urged the European Union (EU) to recognize China's status as a full market economy.

Bo, meeting EU Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy here on the sidelines of the 5th Asia-Europe Meeting summit, said the EU should recognize China's full market economy status at an early date in line with the market economic development since its accession to the World Trade Organization.

The two sides also discussed textile trade. Bo said China would work with the EU for a stable transition after the lifting of quotas on textile trade.
