Iraqi PM reacts to Bigley's Death
font size

Iraq's Interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi has condemned the beheading of British hostage Ken Bigley by his Islamist militant captors and vowed to bring them to justice.

Allawi says there is no relationship between the killing of Bigley and the operations of US and Iraqi forces in southeast to Baghdad, China Radio International reported Saturday.

On Friday afternoon, Bigley's younger brother Phil Bigley said in a televised statement that the family has now received absolute proof that Ken Bigley was executed by his captors.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Foreign Secretary Jack Straw have extended condolences to Bigley's family and strongly condemned the killing.

62-year-old Bigley was kidnapped in Baghdad last month along with two US hostages, who have also been killed.
