Chinese top legislator encourages Alcatel's investment in China
font size

China will continue to support Alcatel's mutually-beneficial cooperation in China, expected to create a new stage for the company's further development, said Chinese top legislator Wu Bangguo Saturday in Beijing.

Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress, made the remark in meeting with Serge Tchuruk, chairman and chief executive officer of Alcatel, a French leader in telecommunications equipment, applications and services.

Wu said the deepening political basis of bilateral relations have helped create sound conditions for trade and business cooperation between China and France, and increasing trade cooperation from strategic perspective would be important to promote the relations between the two countries.

Tchuruk briefed on Alcatel's investment and cooperation in China, hoping for further cooperation in such fields as telecommunication and space technology.
