The consumer confidence index rose to 91.3 points in September, up 1.2 points from 90.1 points in June, the National Statistics Bureau (NSB) said Sunday in Beijing.
The NSB report indicated that consumers are confident in China's economic prospects. The consumer expectation index also rose to 90.1 points in September from 88.7 points in June.
In September, 68 percent consumers believed China's general economic situation was good and 57 percent were confident that China's economy will continue to prosper, NSB statistics show.
Forty-two percent of those surveyed believed that they would have more income next year, up 3 percent from June, and 27 percent thought they would have less, down 4 percent from June, the NSB said.
The consumer satisfaction index also increased to 93.2 points in September from 92.2 points in June, NSB said.
The NSB report revealed while consumer's satisfaction with income has increased, satisfaction with prices has decreased. In September, consumers that thought that now is the proper time to buy durable goods and automobiles were 53 percent and 14 percent respectively, down 3 percent and 4 percent each over June.
