Beijing has unveiled a list of 30 candidates for its 6th annual Top Ten Outstanding Youth Awards, reported China Radio International on Monday.

These awards are used to commend those people who have dedicated themselves to the development of the capital city.

An introduction to the candidates can be found on websites such as www.bjyouth.com and the public can offer any opinions and suggestions until October 24th.

Canadian Mark Rowswell,a famous actor in Chinese mainland with the stage name Dashan, is also included in the candidate list.

This is the first time that a foreigner has been allowed to take part in the awards.
