font size

China Unicom's 3G field test has ended with the US CDMA2000 EVDO being selected, along with other technologies supported by Huawei Technologies and Motorola.

The tests started in March with WCDMA, CDMA2000 and TD-SCDMA being tested.

Since China has not yet issued any licences for 3G, the field test conducted by the Ministry of Information attracted great attention from both foreign and domestic telecommunication giants.

During the test, Unicom used LG, Samsung, QUALCOMM and Motorola cellphones.

The ministry conducted tests in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou

Details of the tests will be issued on November 8th.
