Xie Qihua, No.2 on Fortune's List of World Top 50 Businesswomen

Xie Qihua, board chairwoman and president of Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation, was listed the second by Fortune in its latest list of the 50 most powerful businesswomen in the world outside the United States.

As a tradition, Fortune will list 50 most influential businesswomen outside the US annually. This time, Xie's rank leaps from the 16th to the 2nd.

"Xie led Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation in setting the record earnings and revenue and pioneered successfully a path in the trades traditionally dominated by the male," said Fortune.

On the latest list of the 50 most powerful businesswomen outside the United States round the world, 8 are Chinese businesswomen. They are:

Yang Mianmian, president of Haier Group, wins the 8th;

Ma Xuezhen, financial chief of Lenovo Group, holds the 14th;

Dong Mingzhu, president of Gree Electric Appliance, Inc, Zhuhai, ranks 42nd;

Yang Minde, chairwoman and executive president of HK Esquel Group, gets the 44th;

He Chaoqiong, president and executive director of HK Shun Tak Holding Limited, holds the 49th.
