font size

A double-digit growth in Hong Kong's electronics exports is expected this year, said a Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) official Wednesday.

In the first eight months of 2004, Hong Kong's electronics exports surged by 25 percent to 72.6 billion US dollars, said Chairman of HKTDC's Electronics/Electrical Appliances Industry Advisory Committee Allan Wong at the opening of the Hong Kong Electronics Fair Wednesday.

Virtually almost all the market have shown positive growth, quite a number of them in double digits, including the Chinese mainland with a 29 percent increase, said Wong.

Organized by the HKTDC, the Electronics Fair, which is the largest of its kind in Asia, is being staged from Oct. 13 to 16 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.

This year, over 2020 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions showcase their products at the fair, a 4 percent increase over last year.
