Palestinian FM criticizes US Mideast policy
font size

"The United States is taking anti-Arab decisions at the UN Security Council. It used the veto against a resolution targeting Israel to prevent any move that will stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians," said Shaath in a statement to the press.   The top Palestinian diplomat, who is visiting Syria, said it is unreasonable to make the Palestinian people pay the US elections "tax".

Earlier in the day, Shaath held talks with Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara on the Israeli aggressions against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip as well as means to enhance the Palestinian-Syrian relations in all domains.

The Palestinian struggle against the Israeli occupation will continue, asserted Shaath.

Describing the meeting with his Syrian counterpart as positive,Shaath said "Syria is playing an effective and strategic role to bolster the pan-Arab action."

On the inter-Palestinian dialogue, Shaath noted it is to be resumed soon.
