China's first direct air-cooled generating set put into production
font size

China's first 300-megawatt direct air-cooled generating set, the No. 1 unit of Shanxi Zhangshan Electric Power Co., Ltd. went into operation recently. It is also Shanxi Province's first generating unit put into production this year. Its commissioning will dramatically ease power shortage in Shanxi's southeast regions

Zhangshan project is the province's non-utility power project for the country's west-to-east power transmission. The planned total installed capacity is two 300-megawatt generators and two 600-megawatt generators. The construction in the first phase project includes two 300-megawatt generators, involving a total investment of 2.54 billion Yuan, and the direct air-cooled technology and the semi-dry de-sulfurizing technology featuring the integration of dust elimination and sulfur removal is employed for the first time in China.
