font size

China plans to launch its fourth meteorological satellite, "Fengyun-2", from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in Southwest China's Sichuan Province.

As a geosynchronous orbit satellite, "Fengyun-2" will orbit 36,000 kilometres above the earth and observe weather in the Asia-Pacific region.

The satellite will help China improve disaster reduction and monitor climate changes.
