Pakistan's Maritime Security Agency (MSA has detained 60 Indian fishermen along with their boats, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported Monday.
These detainees were arrested for violating Pakistan's maritime limits, APP quoted MSA sources as saying.
It further detailed that a MSA ship was on routine patrol in the maritime region about 100 nautical miles away from the southern port city of Karachi, when it found the Indian boats "illegally fishing."
Pakistan and India, with 1,050 km and 7,417 km of coastline respectively, share the waters of the Arabian Sea. Two arch-rivals in South Asia, the two neighbors, which have fought three wars, have long been capturing fishermen from the opposite side for "illegal fishing."
As there is no agreed boundary in the sea waters between the two countries, fishing boats from both sides might unwillingly and unknowingly cross into the other's territory, because of tidal currents, wind force, cyclone or engine failure.
