font size

Payouts from insurance premiums in China,

from January to September of this year, have topped 300 billion yuan. That's

around 37 billion US dollars, a 13 percent rise year-on-year.

The figures were released by the Insurance Regulatory Commission.

According to statistics, over

80 companies have started up or are planning to do so soon. Meanwhile, the

number of intermediary insurance firms now total over a thousand nationwide,

CCTV.com reported Monday.

Experts say the dollar amount of insurance premium payouts has grown about

34 percent annually since the beginning of the Chinese insurance industry, back

in 1980.
