Chinese agricultural products safer and of better quality
font size

Chinese agricultural products are safer and cleaner than in the past, with 96 percent of vegetables in major urban markets passing quality checks and livestock products polluted by growth hormone accounting for less than one percent of the total.

Minister of Agriculture Du Qinglin confirms that the safety and quality of China's agricultural products have improved significantly, reported China Radio International.

Currently, a whole-process management system has been established to ensure the production, processing, transportation, storage and sales match the country's standards.

The Ministry of Agriculture has also established thousands of pollution-free agricultural product bases in a bid to teach farmers how to properly use pesticide, fertilizer, animal drugs and feedstuffs additives.
