The earthquake that shocked Yunnan Province in southwest China Tuesday morning has left 12 people injured, with one in critical condition. More than 20,000 houses have been dilapidated by the quake and some 1,000 students in about 20 schools forced to stop class.
The earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale hit Baoshan, a densely populated city, at 6:11 a.m. The epicenter of the quake was at Hanzhuang Town, about ten kilometers off downtown Baoshan.
