Additional three members of the tour group involved in the Taiwan traffic accident and their relatives returned Wednesday night by air, a spokesman for Hong Kong's Immigration Department said.
They were accompanied by three immigration officers who had flown to Taiwan in the wake of the tragedy in which five were fatally injured.
"Also on the plane were the bodies of four of the deceased," the spokesman added. So far, all the five bodies involved in the traffic accident have been sent back to Hong Kong.
Immigration officers at the airport provided plane side clearance for the injured who were then whisked off to hospital in ambulance.
As at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night, 30 members of the tour group, including a tour escort, had returned to Hong Kong.
Three members of the group are still hospitalized in Taiwan. A senior immigration officer and a medical officer have stayed behind to provide them with assistance and support.
In receiving the immigration officers at the airport, Deputy Director of Immigration Chow Kwok-chuen praised them for their swift response to the call of duty. He hoped that the efforts they made were of assistance to those in distress.
Five Hong Kong tourists were killed and another 32 were injured in the Taiwan traffic accident on Monday.
