Senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Li Changchun has called on nationwide efforts to improve the capacity to develop advanced socialist culture during his inspection tour of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from Oct. 17 to 20.

Li, who is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said developing highly prosperous and advanced socialist culture is a major objective and a major leverage of the CPC's governance.

New measures should be taken to strengthen and improve the Party's leadership over ideological and cultural work and improve the capacity to develop advanced socialist culture, he said.

He also stressed the importance of promoting all sorts of thoughts and ethos conducive to realizing prosperity and rejuvenation of the nation and social harmony.
