An official of the National Development and Reform Commission vowed recently to strenghthen and improve the macro-control efforts to consolidate the achievements and prevent any rebound so that the targets set for the macro-control can be fulfilled.

The Commission will pay more attention to the following five aspects: structural adjustment, reinforcing the weak fields in the social and economic development, boosting consumption, improving living standard of the people especially the needy, and making the system and mechanism more efficient through the reform.

In the mean time, the Commission will keep on its efforts on controlling the aggregate, curbing the expansion of some sectors at a low level, cooling down the overheating investment, accelerating the economy and easing off prominent problems in the economic operation.

It also promised different attitude toward different industries according to the real situation.

The official also required studies on significant issues and the research of 13 subjects of strategic importance led by the Commission to make a good foundation for the preparation of the 11th Five-year Plan.

All of this, the official repeatedly stressed, should be guided by the idea of scientific development.
