font size

Indonesian new President Susilo Bambang

Yudhoyono installed his 36-member cabinet at the state palace Thursday,

reiterating his call for a clean and honest government.

"You must become honest and clean officials... be a role model for the

people," Susilo told his new aides after taking their oaths.

He said he will not hesitate to fire officials convicted of corruption by

the court.

The so-called United Indonesia Cabinet includes five ministers from the

administration of Megawati Soekarnoputri, such as ForeignMinister Hassan

Wirajuda and Energy Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro.

The Susilo Cabinet consists of three coordinating ministers, 19ministers,

10 state ministers, minister/state secretary, Cabinet secretary, chairperson of

national Development Planning Board and Attorney General.
