Luo Gan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met in Beijing Thursday with Karl Korinek, president of the Constitutional Court of Austria.
Luo said that the relationship between China and Austria has developed smoothly since the two countries forged diplomatic ties, adding that bilateral political relations and cooperation in economy, culture and education have been furthered.
He said that the courts of the two countries have increased contacts, and his delegation is composed of heads of the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Judicial Court and the Administrative Court. This, he said, will promote exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the judicial field.
Korinek said Austria and China should enhance judicial cooperation and learn from each other to improve the legal system of their own.
He expressed appreciation for China's implementation of the rule of law, saying that law helps safeguard a nation's stability and the world peace as well. Austria is willing to work with China to advance bilateral ties and contribute to the world peace and stability.
Austrian judicial organs include the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Judicial Court and the Administrative Court. The country has 200 district courts, 17 provincial courts and 4 superior provincial courts.
