The main points are underlining the unity of Iraq and its territorial integrity, stressing a pivotal role to be played by theUnited Nations in the political process in Iraq and considering theconference as a step toward involving all the parties in Iraq in the political process.
The conference is expected to be attended by Iraq and its neighbors, Egypt, the Group of Eight, China, the United Nations, the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Conference and the European Union.
Egypt hopes that it will finally hammer out a unified international stance on Iraq.
