On Tuesday evening, Putin will answer questions from Ukrainian citizens, in a live broadcast by three local television companies.
In the course of the three-day visit, the Russian leader will hold a number of meetings with the Ukrainian leadership. On Thursday, together with other high-ranking CIS guests, he will take part in the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of Ukraine's liberation from Nazi occupation.
The live broadcast with Putin's fielding questions from Ukrainians will begin at 21:00, Moscow time, on First National television and the commercial Inter and Studio 1+1 channels.
Judging by the information on the web site, which was set up for receiving answers from Ukrainian citizens, the upcoming dialogue is of considerable interest.
Many ask Putin's opinion about the upcoming presidential election in Ukraine, scheduled for October 31, and his prognosis regarding the chances of the Ukrainian and Russian soccer teams to make it to the finals of the world championship.
It is not the first time Putin answers questions from citizens live. He has given three such live interviews in Russia, and has regular news conferences at which he talks with Russian and foreign journalists.
Aside from Vladimir Putin, a number of CIS leaders, including Azerbaijani President Ilkham Aliyev, are expected to attend the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of Ukraine's liberation from Nazi occupants.
