font size

The Chinese mainland and Hong Kong would undertake financial cooperation in more fields and at a higher level with the implementation of Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement, said Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju Wednesday.

During his meeting with Charles Lee Yeh Kwong, president of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, Huang said that closer financial cooperation between the two sides would be conducive to Hong Kong's better development as an international financial center.

Close cooperative ties have been established between mainland companies and Hong Kong stock markets ever since the latter began to list H shares in Hong Kong in 1993, Huang said. Cooperation is a win-win situation with promising future and vast space for further development.

Li said that securities and futures markets in Hong Kong would endeavor to make full use of their advantages and set up a platform for the mainland companies to go global, so as to play a better role in the nation's economic construction.
