China hopes that both China and Iran will make continuous efforts to further improve cooperation and expand cooperative spheres in a bid to promote bilateral relations, said Chinese Vice-Premier Zeng Peiyan Thursday.

At a meeting with Iranian Minister of Oil Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, Zeng said since China and Iran established diplomatic relations, they have witnessed steady development of bilateral relations, strengthening political mutual trust and positive progress in economic, trade and investment cooperation.

Zeng also met here Thursday with Louis V. Gerstner Jr., former chairman of the International Business Machines Corporations in the United States, and Dr. Folker Weibgerber, board member of the Volkswagen Group in Germany.
