Three US soldiers were injured when a car bomb exploded in southern Baghdad on Thursday, the US military said.

The attack took place at about 7:30 am (0430 GMT) when an explosive-laden vehicle hit a US military convoy under the flyover of the main road in southern Baghdad, it said.

One US military vehicle was ablaze as US and Iraqi National Guards cordoned off the area, according to witnesses.
