China and Portugal have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in supervision of securities and futures markets, China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) said Thursday.
The document was signed Tuesday by Shang Fulin, CSRC chairman, and his Portuguese counterpart Fernando T.D. Santos at an executive meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commissions, according to a press release issued by the commission. The meeting was held in Montreal, Canada.
Shang said the cooperation between the two countries will facilitate the healthy development of their capital markets.
So far, China has signed such memos with the securities and futures supervision authorities of 25 countries and regions.
These countries and regions include the United States, the Republic of Korea, Japan and several countries in Europe and Southeast Asia.
