As China moves to become the fourth largest trader in the world, the World Trade Organization decided Wednesday to review the country's trade policy every two years, CCTV reported Thursday.
The WTO's trade policy review is a monitoring mechanism that the organization uses to ensure transparency of its members' trade policies and practices.
For the four largest traders in the world, the reviews will be conducted every two years. Traders ranking 5th to 20th will come under review every four years.
As a relatively new member of the WTO, China has not yet been examined under this mechanism. The organization says the first review of China's trade policy would be in 2006.
