The World Engineer's Convention will be held at Shanghai International Conference Center from November 2 to 5, 2004. Experts and scholars from 58 countries and regions will be attending the convention. By then nearly 3,000 delegates will conduct academic discussions and studies centered on the convention's theme - "engineers shape the sustainable future".

Initiated jointly by World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) and UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and cosponsored by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and Shanghai Municipal Government the convention is a world conference on engineering technology. It is the largest international meeting of engineering technology circles to be held in China in terms of standard and scale. Meanwhile the convention will arrange a series of corresponding activities such as achievements show & forum on China's major projects, joint exhibition & forum on future engineers, female engineers forum and video show on world great projects etc.
