The China Aerospace Science and Technology or CAST says the general design for a new-generation carrier rocket has been completed.

The rocket will be high performance and non-pollutant. What's more, it will be able to carry three times more cargo than the present model, China Radio International reported on Monday.

CAST says the new rocket's engine has undergone several ground tests, with successful results.
