The China-France Science and Technology Innovation Forum has opened in Beijing. It comes as the two countries celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.
Many events are marking the "France Culture Year" in China, but the two-day forum is the largest on science. 300 representatives from both countries are attending, reported CCTV.com on Sunday.
The governments' support in scientific research, and the partnership between institutes and enterprises are the two focuses. China and France maintain close scientific cooperation, particularly in environmental protection, energy and information technology.
The two countries signed a series of science cooperation deals during French President Jacques Chirac's visit to China last month.
